Where relaxation
meets restoration.
I'm Dr. Ryno Tope. For over a decade I've been helping the Hawke's Bay community through my work as a chiropractor at Structural Chiropractic — and Ultrafloat is the natural extension of that work.
Why I built Ultrafloat
My passion for holistic wellbeing and my deep understanding of how stress impacts the body and mind led me to expand our approach by introducing Ultrafloat.
Life's demands take a toll on all of us. Prolonged stress affects not just our physical health, but also our mental and emotional wellbeing — leading to tension, fatigue, and reduced vitality.
While chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper structure and function to the body, float therapy complements this by creating the conditions for deep rest and physical recovery. We believe in the power of proactive self-care — not as a luxury, but as an essential part of maintaining your health.
Whether you're a chiropractic patient looking to support your care, an athlete recovering from training, or simply someone in need of a mental and physical reset — Ultrafloat is here for you.
Structural Chiropractic & Ultrafloat
Ultrafloat sits next door to Structural Chiropractic at 807 Heretaunga Street East, Hastings. The two practices share a philosophy — that the body functions best when given the right conditions to recover, adapt, and restore.
Many of our float clients are also chiropractic patients. The two approaches work well together — structural care addresses alignment and nervous system function, while float therapy supports the recovery and rest that allows those changes to settle.

Why magnesium matters
Our float pod contains 400kg of pharmaceutical-grade magnesium sulphate (Epsom salt). Magnesium is the second-most abundant element in human cells — and most of us are deficient, as modern soils are increasingly depleted. Floating allows for natural topical absorption through the skin.
Muscle & joint recovery
The weightless environment removes all gravitational load from your body. Many members float as part of their recovery routine after training or physically demanding work.
Deep rest & relaxation
Without external light, sound or physical sensation, your nervous system gets a rare opportunity to fully switch off. Members often describe leaving feeling deeply calm and mentally lighter.
Sleep support
A growing number of members float as part of their wind-down routine. Many report sleeping more deeply in the nights following a session.
Skin absorption
Magnesium sulphate absorbs readily through the skin during a float. It plays a role in over 325 enzyme processes in the body, from muscle function to energy production.
Mental clarity
The absence of external input creates space for reflection. Many floaters describe a quality of mental quiet during and after their session that's difficult to find elsewhere.
Safe during pregnancy
Many pregnant women enjoy floating as a way to take the weight off joints and the back. We welcome mums-to-be up to 24 weeks — please check with your LMC or GP first.
